The prestigious annual awards for “National-Cyprus” and “Russian-Cyprus” were established in 2006 to give a platform of recognition for women entrepreneurs and philanthropists across Cyprus and operates under CB (Cyprus Business) Awards Ltd.

Women continue to transform the face of business and society with leadership roles in various businesses and corporations, and are recognisably pioneers, innovative and intuitive with their projects. They have certain characteristics that set them apart and are generally not afraid to acknowledge their leadership style. The award promotes the determination and ambitious intentions of these women.

The award ceremonies attract support from dignitaries, corporate speakers and sponsors who value and share the ethos of an award created to honour women.

The British High Commissioner for Cyprus (at that time), Mr Mathew Kidd, hosted an award event at the British High Commission in Nicosia. In addition, H.E. Mr. Stanislav V. Osadchiy Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Cyprus hosted one of the Russian award events, notably quoting: “I believe the business opportunities for our women are equal to others as the Republic of Cyprus respects the European and International law and values. In my opinion, a successful business start for a female entrepreneur in Cyprus is primarily the matter of personal motivation and professionalism.”

The award finalists are defined by certain characteristics. They are strong, have high developed instincts, leadership qualities and are frequently able to balance their time and energy between work and home. They are resilient, focused, and self-reliant, open to learning and successfully contribute to the Cyprus’ economy, employment, environment and community through their initiatives and businesses.
